This is a very handy "click and drag" area for admins level users to add Voter Registration ID information from their respective Secretary of State, or adding new tag data.
Note: this can be very technical knowledge intensive, and we recommend reading all related articles, proceeding very carefully, and if you have any questions contacting support before using this area.
Any data to be uploaded must be in a Windows .csv (comma separated values) file format.
All information ties back to a unique identifier for the voter - either their Secretary of State Voter ID Number or the RNC Reg ID number.
While preparing your file to be uploaded, you must have the Secretary of State Voter ID number and or the RNC Reg ID number in the file to add new voters into your account, or to match data to voters already in the database.
While preparing your file to be uploaded, make sure to delete columns from the .csv that you are not needing to load into the account or not needing to match.
After the file is saved in the proper format, select the Data Tab.
the Read Me will be displayed:
After you close the Read Me popup then you will have the opportunity to select the file to upload.
Drag and drop or select the file to upload it.
Select Confirm File Upload to continue to mapping the uploaded file into your account.
Depending on the size of the file, it could take a while to upload the file.
There will be another popup with reminders for Data Mapping. We have so many reminders because if there is an error, it could cause serious issues to your database. It could be immediately obvious that there is an issue, or it could take weeks or months to find that the data needs to be fixed.
When in doubt, reach out to the customer support team for assistance.
Select Close on the Data Mapping popup, and you will be able to map your spreadsheet columns into the database.
CampaignSidekick will do the best job it can auto-mapping the columns from the uploaded CSV into the the fields to select from for loading the data into CampaignSidekick.
Each field must be checked by the uploader by clicking in the red box to confirm the field/s are matched properly and once clicked the red box will change to the green Checkmark.
If the user tries to save mapping without having all the fields checked, there will be an error message asking the user to confirm all fields.
After all fields are confirmed, select Save Mapping in the lower right hand corner. You will be required to type "confirm" in a confirmation pop up box.
Once again, it is very important that the mapping is done carefully and accurately. If there is any question, please reach out to CampaignSidekick customer support.
The data will then be put into the loading queue, which you'll find at Upload History.
After Uploading data Tags, be sure to select "Refresh Tag Cache" under Data/Tags/Refresh Tag Cache.
