There are three setting options that Campaign Administrators should be aware of that control important functionality in the mobile app. All three are turned off by default but can easily be changed (as shown in the video above) to provide the ideal option set for your campaign.
Clock in/Clock out: Tracking hours for paid campaign staff (or volunteer competition) has never been easier. We've integrated a robust time-tracking functionality into the app, with reporting in the main portal. Turning on this feature will force app users to clock in and clock out, to provide a clear time-sheet of their activity.
Disable Self-Assign Walklist: Many campaigns like giving canvassers the ability to assign themselves new walklists. Via the Unassigned Walklist page in the mobile app, users can see available walklists, based on proximity and size, and choose which one they'd like to work on. This ability is setup by default. However, if you want more regimented control over where canvassers are walking, you can disable this option. The result will be that campaign managers need to directly assign each walklist to the walker or team of their choice.
Allow Walklists to Be Taken Offline: By default, users are not allowed to download walklists for offline canvassing. Offline canvassing limits the amount of accountability information that a walkers device can report (such as GPS tracking). As a result, campaigns need to make a decision between the convenience of using offline canvassing (non-data enabled devices or canvassing in areas with bad data coverage) or accountability of walker tracking. This choice doesn't have to be a long-term one. You can toggle on/off this setting as you see fit. People who have taken walklists offline while you allowed it will be able to finish those lists and upload the data even after you've turned off the ability to download new ones.
